چکیده
The study aimed on characterisizing guinea pig as model to AD. It was done by observation in the celuller expression of guine pig brains with an association between depletion testosterone hormone and amyloid β (Aβ) level. Two groups of male guinea pigs (Cavia cobaya), six adult old (16-32 months) and six age old (32-48 months) with testosterone depletion as a result castration. Observations of the brain were conducted by histopathology analysis with hematoxylin and eosin staining, and immunohistochemistry with beta amyloid (Aβ) at first, third and fifth month after castration. The result showed that castration of adult and old guinea pigs after three months castration was associated with the formation of Aβ plaques in the brain. Common features which appeared include Aβ deposition in the brain parencym and blood vessels. Therefore, guinea pigs are potentialas animal model to study Aβ formation in relation to the pathogenecity of AD.

Involvement of TRPM7 calcium channels and PI3K/AKT kinase pathway in protective effect of vascular endothelial growth factor in amyloid beta-induced model of Alzheimer’s disease
Background and Objective: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, in which cortical and hippocampus neurons death is the main target of neurodegeneration. In addition to extracellular beta amyloid accumulation and the production of neural tangles, one of effective factors in the pathology of Alzheimer's disease is vascular injury in the elderly including disturbanc...
متن کاملBiophysical properties of single potassium channel in the brain mitochondrial inner membrane of male rat with Alzheimer’s disease
Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, characterized by impairment of memory and changes in behavior and personality. Recent evidence suggests that mitochondrial channels play important roles in memory disorders. Accordingly, the biophysical properties of a single potassium channel were investigated in the brain mitochondrial inner membrane of rat with...
متن کاملAxonal and neuronal amyloid precursor protein immunoreactivity in the brains of guinea pigs given tunicamycin.
Amyloid precursor protein (APP) immunocytochemistry was used to study axonal and neuronal changes in guinea pig brains exposed to tunicamycin. Substantial axonal injury was found in ischemic-hypoxic foci and more generally, but this injury was not readily appreciable in conventionally stained sections. Neuronal perikaryal APP expression was also widely distributed, possibly as an acute phase re...
متن کاملThe beneficial effects of riluzole on GFAP and iNOS expression in intrahippocampal Aβ rat model of Alzheimer’s disease
Background and Objective: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder specified by deposition of b-amyloid (Ab) and neuronal loss that leads to learning and memory disturbances. One of the most important causes of AD is glutamate-dependent excitotoxicity in brain regions that is vulnerable to AD. According to previous reported results, it was revealed that riluzole, as a glutamate ...
متن کاملFrequency of rs2282649 and rs12285364 polymorphisms in SORL1 gene and their association with Alzheimer’s disease in Azari population in northwest of Iran
Background and Aim: Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia in old people. AD is a progressive and irreversible neurodegenerative brain disorder. Sortilin receptor 1 (SORL1) is involved in cellular trafficking of amyloid precursor protein and plays an essential role in amyloid-beta peptide generation in the AD. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the association of...
